It has taken me forever to get here but I made it. 100 posts!
I checked out Erin's blog and she made a birthday wish list for Kevin. I was planning on doing this anyway but i thought I'd share. I too am turning the BIG 3-0 very soon here and have been getting lots of pressure from Dustin to make a list. First let me say I'm a very practical person. I totally don't mind getting things I "need" rather than "want" for my birthday. Although, I do love a good surprise every now and then! I thought I'd make a list of things I would LOVE if we had all the money in the world but since we don't I'll be happy with whatever. Here's my Birthday wishlist...
1. I would love a new camera. A nice SLR camera. I know I could put that bad boy to use and I've wanted one since we got married and I'm still waiting!! patiently.
2. Now this I consider a "need." New sunglasses. I spotted these when we were in California on vacation. I love them. My sunglasses are so scratched on the lenses and my eyes are so sensitive to the sun and I've really been missing good sunglasses.
3. I'm pretty spoiled with jewelry because Dustin actually loves picking it out(and he's pretty good at it.) I totally don't even need any jewelry(I don't wear much besides a ring anyway) but one thing I've always wanted but never had is a peridot ring. Growing up I never really liked my birthstone mostly because it's usually set in yellow gold. I saw this ring at Zales when I went to lunch at the mall with my SIL. Gorgeous!!!
4. I would love to go here with Dustin. We never do anything like this but I can totally picture us pool-side and kid-free. I would love to have a little get-away and maybe go exploring through the canyons while we're there. I have never spent any time in Red Rock besides going there for the plays. I'd love to see it! Either that or Mt. Charleston lodge. Another place I've always wanted to stay but our anniversary is in January and I don't do snow very well!
5. I'd really love to be able to finish our kitchen project and get the tile we want. I really like this because it's tile with a concrete finish and I think it would look really cool. I know this doesn't sound like a very exciting birthday present but like I said before, I'm very practical.
6. On that same note I'd really like to re-paint my room. It's brown and blue right now and booooring and I'd really like to do something more fun. I would love to have grey walls and still use my brown quilt and have some accents of bright yellow. It might sound crazy but I can see it and I like what I see. It might be more work than I'm willing to do right now with all of the other projects I have going on. Someday!
7. My house only has enough space for one dining table and because I have two I'm listing one on Craigslist. I hope to get this table instead. If you only have one table it might as well be a BIG one, right? I'd like these chairs to go with it. Why not throw in a couple new lights to go over the new table while we're at it.
8. I love new clothes but I'm not really into fashion. I'm more of a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl. I'd love a new pair of tennies though but I ONLY wear them when my feet get too cold in flip flops. I do like a new purse but I always have a hard time finding one I like. I really need to enlist my sister, Hannah, she always has a new, cute purse. Sounds difficult, huh? probably why I never receive any of these things for my birthday.
9. I've been asking Dustin (very nicely) to hook me up with one of these. I think they're adorable and my friends Amber and Jen create them. Totally creative and cute and I want one that's custom designed by Dustin for me. He may need help so maybe he can collaborate with you, Amber.
10. For my birthday I'd really enjoy being surrounded by my friends and family. That would trump this whole list and be the best gift of all.

Everything's Going To Be All Right Now.
Karley had surgery on Friday to get her broken nose set.
She was swimming and got such a hard kick(?) to the right side of her face that it collapsed the bone on that side and bowed it out on the other. The procedure would've been too much for her if she were awake. She's been a little trooper throughout this whole thing.
Prepped and ready.
The nurses at the surgery center were so kind to Karley and put us all at ease.
Karley wanted a picture taken of her IV. She thought that was pretty cool and the nurse put some "happy juice" into it right before they wheeled her away.
Karley in recovery. She hated the oxygen mask on her face and as soon as the nurse took it off she was fine.
She gets to wear this cute splint until Wednesday when she goes back in for a check-up.
Taking the little girl home. She stayed awake for the whole ride home. We were home by 9:30 and Karley was begging us to take her to school since she wasn't "that late" We were laughing because obviously she still had some good pain meds running through her system. She's slept a lot this weekend and is hoping to go to school Monday but I do know that everything is going to be all right.

Some of My Thoughts...
- Karley goes into surgery first thing in the morning to have her nose set. The operation will take an hour. I hate sitting in a waiting room waiting for someone to come out of anesthesia. I'm scared. Karley is brave and so I will be brave also.
- Dustin is able to go into work late so that I won't go crazy in the waiting room tomorrow.
- My Mom is coming to help take my kids to school and watch Scotty, something she is willing to do whenever I ask. AHHH (sigh of relief)
- Leslie had Paige over today after school and so I took Scotty swimming and then got some house work done. I just love that. I needed that.
- I wanted to have all my laundry done so my Mom would have some good folding to do(wink wink) but I've been a slacker. I'll have plenty of time tomorrow.
- I rearranged some furniture today and tried to get Dustin to hang a new light over my table but we didn't have the right bulbs so he's off the hook...for now.
- Dustin went to water polo after Scouts tonight. I kinda enjoy this time.
- I cleaned out my garage and parked my Camry inside since it's out of commission until I can replace the two back tires.
- I'm almost finished with my book. Dustin will be happy to have his wife back.
- I'm about to enjoy some Ben and Jerry's all by myself.
- I want to paint..something.
- I have great friends, who are so great to my kids.
- I'm trying to stay positive ..about a lot of things.

MEMORIES
Me and Matt at the beach! Check out our hair!! Yeah pretty good times!!
I can't seem to figure out a way to post my MANY pictures of Yellowstone so I thought I'd give this a try in the mean time!! I know I'm doing this a little late!!Here is a fun little game...Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you, unless I already have!

Oh Karley, Karley
It's party time!!! Karley opened some of her presents on Wednesday and saved the rest for her party Saturday night.
She loves monkeys so this cup and plate set was just perfect.
money, money, money
Mickey Mouse birthstone earrings.

As you can see she was VERY excited and loved everything she received! Thankyou every one for the gifts!
This is Karley on Monday. A little more swollen. She has said that she has a hard time seeing out of her right eye( because her bridge is swollen) and it's sometimes hard to breath out of that nostril.

The cupcakes that no one was able to enjoy!
We sang happy birthday to her since she missed her party.
Karley's golden birthday
Karley on Tuesday a little more swollen and a little more bruised.

She's still black and blue but her swelling has gone down. Friday we go in for it to be set.

Mickey Mouse birthstone earrings. Karley wanted to have a swimming party and Grandma Kris was nice enough to let us invade her house and pool. All was going well until 5 minutes before the party was supposed to start when Karley received a flying knee to the nose. (at least we think that is what happened) I had my back turned to the pool and didn't see it happen but when Karley came up out of the water she was bleeding and I could tell she was hurtin' pretty bad. I knew this wasn't going to be good! Grandma and Grandpa were right there to help since I could hardly catch my breath and they got Karley into the bathroom and started icing her nose. At some point I stood behind Karley and looked at her face in the mirror and knew immediately that she'd broken it. Her nose was pushed to one side and I was terrified. I always knew Karley had a break in her future but I was expecting a broken arm or collar bone or leg. That I could handle. She was scared. So scared. And I felt like crying just seeing her that worried. We decided to leave the party and take her to the Dr. and get an x-ray taken. She was very brave. The Dr. said she had, in fact, broken her nose and the she would need to go to an ear, nose, and throat specialist to have it set once the swelling had gone down. She also got a prescription for antibiotics so she won't get an infection during this time. On the way to the Dr. she asked, "So, how is this going to work?" I'm trying to prep her for what might happen when we get there and she buried her head in her hands and started crying and said, "No, I mean about my party and my presents." She had been looking forward to swimming with her cousins and opening her presents for a long time. She was bummed to miss out!
She opened her gifts the next day.

Poor little girl!
Madison on the way home from her oral surgery yesterday.
Nasty? I know. This is Madison's gaping hole in her gums from her oral surgery yesterday!
We were so excited on Monday for Madison's orthodontist appt. Madison can hardly stand the wait to get her braces on! She had her records appt. and was then hoping to get banded later in the week. That is... until they found a "hidden tooth" on the x-ray and dashed all of her hopes. She would need to have oral surgery to expose the tooth so it can be worked into the mix. We got an appt. for Friday and the orthodontist said she could get her braces on in 3 weeks (Aug. 1) after the surgery. She also had to have two of her grown-up teeth extracted. She did a great job and I was able to be in the room with her until she fell asleep. (Even that was a little more than I could bear to watch) When she woke up she was sad and kinda had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia. There was a couple across the way in recovery and Madison had shot straight up in her chair with a mouth full of bloody gauze and was moaning. I think it scared them and the girl said, "Is she alright?" I just said "No, but I'm sure she will be!" It was sad and funny at the same time. (Secretly, I have been loving taking care of her and watching movies in bed.)
She is doing much better today and I'm sure before the weekend is over she'll be back to her normal TWEEN self.

San Clemente 2008
We started out our vacation in Anaheim visiting Grandma and Grandpa Great. Uncle mark came Saturday to put in their new a/c unit and Dustin couldn't help but get in on the action.
Scott just loved to climb up on Grandpa's lap and perch himself right there.
He also loved to check out Grandpa's cane.
I'm not sure that Sophie appreciated him doing this.
We had a great BBQ at Aunt suzy's house on Sunday and then visited a really neat park across the street. The girls had a great time playing with Bradley at the playground and scott enjoyed the ducks in the pond. Bryan(Dustin's cousin) and Allyson (Bryan's wife) came for the BBQ and it was nice to finally be able to meet Allyson.
Monday we cruised Costco on the way to the beach.
Probably the craziest Costco trip Grandma Kris has ever experienced. It was fun though!
Landon is so cute with his squishy cheeks.
Here's Brandon and Anneke's baby, Cannon! What an adorable smile!
I thought this was a cool picture.
That's Dustin in the water and Riley and Kris on the shore.
How do you get this thing to work??
This one's for you, Mom and Andy ! The train travels right along the beach.
Dustin and Scott jumpin waves.
Scott was a little more timidthis year but he loved to swim in the ocean and play on the beach with Daddy.
Karley was leaning over digging for sand crabs and her swim suit broke. Of course Dustin was able to rig it so she could enjoy the rest of her day at the beach. I know if Frankie had still been there Dustin would have gotten teased for his McGyver skillz!
