As The Sun Sets

Our nightly ritual is to take one last trip down to the water every evening before the sun disappears into the sea. We take our walk, Dustin with his surfboard and me with my camera. It's really the most lovely time to go to the beach. It's still light out and nearly everyone has cleared the once crowded sand. My kids play tag with the waves, I gaze at the ocean and wait for the sun to set while day-dreaming, and Dustin feeds his spirit doing what he loves... surfing.

During a break in the waves Dustin (with his most serious looking face) talks with Morgan, his cousin, who always makes time to surf with him.

And,
to top off this nearly perfect
end to our day
every once in awhile
I'm able to capture
something especially beautiful...
...Like this.

Isn't SHE lovely!

She is my sister's sweet baby girl. She's visiting while her Dad is in Afghanistan and my girl's are loving every moment they spend with her. We've only got one more week to love on her. BooHoo.

Seems Innocent Enough

Four adorable girls playing in the Rhino pretending to be BIG girls that know how to drive...
... Until the one in the driver seat starts to really examine things and gets some encouragement from her friends...

...and then starts looking around to see if anyone is coming down the street (which I'm grateful for, don't get me wrong.)
...and then starts actually moving backward out of the driveway...

... and then, well, you know the rest.

See ya' girls... have fun, be safe. Be REALLY, REALLY SAFE!!!

I'll be right here waiting for you, biting my finger nails nervously on the porch.
